Abstract

In Malaysia, Muslim tourist is offered a lot of accommodation which align with the Shariah principle. Malaysia is a country with a majority Muslim and has been the preferred place for vacation among Muslim tourists. Based on the review of the past literature, it was found that Muslims' behavioral intention to purchase is strongly influenced by their religious values. Therefore, this study aims to examine whether religiosity influences Muslim tourists’ intention in selecting Muslim-friendly accommodation, particularly in Malaysia. Previous studies had extensively explored the relationship between religiosity and consumer behavior, but such research was scarce, particularly in the context of tourism and accommodation choices. For that reason, a survey will be conducted by the researchers to collect responses from Muslim tourists regarding their preference for Muslim-friendly accommodation based on their religiosity and TPB antecedents.
